Description

Szechuan Buttons (aka Sechuan Buttons, Sichuan Buttons, Buzz Buttons, Toothache plant, Acmella Oleracea) are an unusual food in that their primary use is not nutrition or flavor but rather to impart a sensation to food and drink. They possess a slightly bitter, herby flavor that isn't unusual, but a few seconds after consuming them something very interesting begins to happen in the mouth: Eating a Szechuan button will lead to a tingling sensation...almost like mild voltage or bubbles from an effervescent beverage popping on the tongue. It is similar to (but much more intense than) the tingling imparted by Szechuan peppercorns, which is how this flower gets its name. Part of the secret of this effect may be that these flowers contain a natural painkiller sometimes used to numb toothache (hence their other nickname: toothache plant). It is not unpleasant, but surprising, and sharing just a small button with friends will cause a look of confused wonder. These plants have been grown by Natural nomad without the use of pesticides or chemicals. Picked fresh to order! ***We recommend you try a small piece to see if you can tolerate more, some people only need a small amount to reach the desired sensation.*** Disclaimer: This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. Consume/use at your own risk.

Our seeds/bulbs are guaranteed to be fresh but are NOT guaranteed as to results. Sorry, but there are too many variables in gardening that can impact germination. Flower seeds/bulbs are a live organism. Their germination depends on many factor including heat, cooling, sun, shade, moisture, time of sowing, etc. None of these things We can control so We can not be held responsible for them. So please do not ask for a refund, replacement or to return unused seeds/bulbs.

Acmella oleracea , also known under its old names Spilanthes oleracea and Spilanthes acmella and commonly referred to as Spilanthes Extract, is a flowering herb in the plant family Asteraceae , also known as toothache plant or paracress as the leaves and flower heads contain an analgesic agent spilanthol used to numb toothache. It is native to the tropics of Brazil , and is grown as an ornamental (and occasionally as a medicinal) in various parts of the world. A small,
erect plant, it grows quickly and sends up gold and red flower inflorescences. It is frost-sensitive but perennial in warmer climates.Comments:
This looks like a really cool plant. I haven't grown one myself, but now that we have seed in stock (for the first time) I'm going to give it a try. It is an interesting looking short garden flower. The leaves are quite ornamental and remind me of Hybiscus leaves. The flowers are button like round heads mostly yellow with red centers. These curiosities are well worth growing, if only for the conversation factor!

**This listing is for a 50/50 mixture of "lemon drop" and "Bullseye" toothache flowers. They both taste and act the same... the only real difference being color! Szechuan Buttons (aka Sechuan Buttons, Sichuan Buttons, Buzz Buttons, Toothache plant, Acmella Oleracea) are an unusual food in that their primary use is not nutrition or flavor but rather to impart a sensation to food and drink. 5. Acmella oleracea (toothache plant) seeds: 100 seeds bulls-eye variety + 100 seeds lemon-drop variety.

Feature

100 toothache seeds: bullseye variety.
100 toothache seeds: Lemon drop variety.
Seeds sourced from our farm.
Organically grown and consciously harvested.
Enjoy!

Description

***These seeds are from our own personal plants*** ---We are offering two distinct varieties of the toothache plant in their own storage container : Bulls-eye variety (yellow flower with deep red centers) and the Lemon-drop variety (bright green stem with glowing bright yellow flowers) - please refer to pictures for the visual distinctions! This combo seed pack is the first time we have seen the option to actually purchase the two toothache varieties in the same place (not mention: we are the source of the seed). We harvest and dry these seeds from our very own flowers/buttons that you have probably sampled at one time. ** Please be advised-the germination rate on the lemon drop variety is under 50%, the germination rate of the bullseye variety is well over 80%** If you want the secret to our success in producing these flowers: it's simple-----direct sow your seeds in your pot and keep them out of direct sunlight( they require indirect light to germinate) . we never cover our seeds with dirt, we just sprinkle on top and then water them into the soil....really that simple. We do not cover the seeds because these seeds are a variety that needs light for proper germination. **most folks bury their seeds and keep them dark...which is a reason they have little success in getting germination.** Seeds take a little over a week to ten days to fully germinate, don't be discouraged if you do not see young seedlings in the first few days...they will come.

KIT INCLUDES:1 X grow tray: 1X bottom reservoir tray: 1X clear humidity dome.
Dimensions: Tray Size: 7" x 5.3" x 2", Cell size: 1.5" x 1.5 "x 2".

Description

This complete grow kit comes with everything you will need to successfully produce your very own toothache plants. We have eliminated the hard part of growing this plant: The Germination/Nursery stage. All 12 of the 1" cells are pre-loaded with our very own organic soil, fertilizer, and seeds and vacuumed sealed in place for safe arrival. We take the liberty of watering the seeds into the soil mixture prior to shipping...speeds up the germination time. **The seeds we use are from our very own plants. ** Directions for use: These are also included with your kit. 1) Upon receiving your grow kit we ask that you remove the vacuum sealed product bag from around the kit and remove the three pieces (tray, reservoir, and dome). After opening package you will want to gently mist the surface of each of the 12 1" cells and do it daily until you see the sprouts emerge (the goal is to keep the seeds and soil moist to insure proper and full germination). 2) Important: make sure the kit is placed in an area the has natural room light (not direct) as spilanthes needs light to fully germinate (this is the trick most people overlook in trying to grow this plant). ---you can start to add water to the bottom reservoir tray for watering purposes once the seedlings have germinated. --Germination should occur 7-10 days after you have received the product in the mail. 3) Refer to our pics: once the seedlings are into their "true leaf stage" you are safe to transplant to a bigger pot/grow space. ***Each of the 12 1" cells can be transplanted into a 5-7 gallon pot with great success( they will grow in any sized pot)...it's the sizes we use to produce them! in about 2- 3 months you will have more tingle then you can handle! Just keep them watered and you will have so many buttons. --Since the seeds used in each germination kit are seeds we personally collect from our plants: we will GUARANTEE success up and to the point of transplant.
