UV filters
Modern lenses often have UV protection built into them as well as digital sensors, however, UV filters are commonly used to help protect the surface of the lens from scratches, smudges, dirt and other hazards.
CPL filter
Different than most filters in that it is composed of two pieces of glass, mounted independently inside a round frame so that one can be rotated relative to the other. As it is rotated, it increasingly cuts out glare and haze. With an SLR, you can actually observe this change through the viewfinder.
ND4 filter
It appears gray and reduces the amount of light reaching the film or sensor, but do not have an effect on color balance.

This reversible, flower style, lens hood helps prevent lens flare and reduces sun glare by extending and shading the front lens element from exposure. The mounting ring attaches directly to the lens, the hood snaps onto the ring which also provides access to both the original 40.5mm filter threads as well as larger 52mm filter threads. The hood is detachable from the mounting ring and reversible for storage, leaving any filters and caps in place on the lens regardless of the hood orientation. This allows you to use the original Sony lens cap or the larger lens cap included in the kit as well as leaving protection filters in place no matter which way the hood is attached.Lens hoods are primarily designed to prevent unwanted stray light from entering the lens by extending and shading the end of the lens. Instructions | The Gobe Variable ND filter should only be rotated between the Min & Max markings on the rim. The Min denotes ND 2 (1 fstop) and the Max denotes ND 400 (9 fstops). Rotating past these parameters you will start to see vignetting and at the extreme you will see a dark X appear. For a wide-angle lens you should not operate the filter past 5 or 6 fstops (or until you begin to see vignetting). Lens caps and sun hoods will not fit over the Variable ND.
