Installation

WARNING: To avoid the risk of fire, shock and/or death, turn power OFF at circuit breaker or fuse. Always test that the power is OFF before wiring.

This device must be installed and used in accordance with appropriate electrical codes and regulations.

If you are unsure or uncomfortable with performing the installation, please consult a qualified electrician.

1.GENTLY remove the old faceplate with a slotted screwdriver.

2.Carefully remove the existing screws and receptacle from the box.

3.Disconnect the wiring from the old receptacle.

4.Connect the outlet per wiring diagram. The black wire leads to hot wire. White leads to neutral wire. Green leads to ground wire.

5. Tighten all screws using 9-12 pounds per inch (1.0-1.4N-m) of torque to ensure no bare conductors are exposed.

6.Carefully insert the outlet into the wall box.

7.Secure the outlet in the wall box with the screws provided.

8.Replace the wall plate.

9.Once installation is complete, restore power at circuit breaker.

Wiring Diagram

  • Feed wires through the electrical box.
  • Wire the receptacle according to the instructions above.
  • Install and mount the receptacle into the electrical box using the screws provided.
  • Gently snap on the faceplate.
  • Turn main circuit power ON to test and use your device.
