The Skida Baby Alpine Hat is an adult version shrunk down to a 6-12 month size, so cozy and cute you'll want one even if you don't have or know anyone who has a baby... yet. The expression up here is "stupid cute," and this is definitely all of that, and practical to boot. Double weight with a fleece lining, this is an easy care, breathable, pop on top for a tot, to keep the smallest fans of winter warm while they're out in the snow. Easy care smooth jersey fabric slides under hoods with no sticking or sliding down over the eyes, and, did we mention adorable? I think we might have. Skida's hats are made here in Vermont by women working out of their Northeast Kingdom homes, and that in and of itself is a triumph. In 1984 the Ladies Garment Workers' Union, in a well-meaning but misguided effort, attacked Vermont's home knitting industry, claiming exploitation. It has taken decades for textiles to come back and home work to once again be brought back to the marketplace.
