The Pitsco 13282 Vacuum Former provides students in grades 6-12 a hands-on activity to operate a vacuum former while studying packaging design and materials science. It heats, stretches, and shapes 6 x 6 x 0.020-inch plastic sheets for experiments and demonstrations in the vacuum-forming process. The heater operates only when the switch is depressed for safer use. It is mounted on a 9 x 13-inch laminated oak base for stability, and measures 8 inches high. The vacuum former requires a standard 120V power outlet. The vacuum former reinforces engineering, technology, and math concepts as students operate a small vacuum former.
