Hex nipple can be applied in: hydrant pipe, air compressor, laundry faucet, extended shower-head and hose, natural gas line and irrigation applications, etc.
This Dernord hex nipple is a stainless steel 304 pipe fitting with male National Pipe Taper (NPT) threads on both ends for joining two pipes or extending pipe length. It has NPT threads for creating tighter seals than straight thread. The hexagonal shape allows for increased leverage during installation and disassembly with a wrench.
When purchase pipe fittings, consider the application, as this will affect material type, shape, size and required durability. Fittings are available threaded or unthreaded, in many shapes, styles, sizes, and schedules (pipe wall thickness).
