Zone 5+ as an outdoor standard - anywhere as a specimen or bonsai plant
Perfect for Bonsai culture. Hardy outdoors to zone 5. Foliage turns a brilliant yellow in the fall for a short time but long enough to make nice show. 1 1/2-inch-long upright cones are clustered along the branches, making a terrific display throughout the year. The tree makes a great all purpose tree.
Makes the perfect Bonsai project! New foliage emerges green and retains color as well as any other cultivar. Superb orange - red fall color. When growing as a standard it matures at a height of around 15 to 20 feet. The elegant, horizontal branching, makes this plant a superb choice. Thrives in partial shade and moist soil.
