Description

WAYNE FAMILY STORIES is a family history but it is also a social history, following the lives of Nathaniel Wayne and Esther Lewis as part of the Westward Movement of America. From the time of their marriage in Kentucky in 1800, they kept moving to where new lands were opening in Indiana, Illinois, and finally Wisconsin where they died. Their sons and daughter and grandchildren were part of this early movement. After the Civil War, some of their great grandchildren continued the movement out of Wisconsin to Iowa, North Dakota, and Minnesota, Wyoming, Oklahoma and California, and eventually throughout the nation. The stories told by these Waynes - either by their own hands or the records left behind - are meant to inspire and help identify who we are.
