Description

The Australian Special Operations Tool (ASOT) is designed as a fast access personal defense tool, intended to bridge the gap between hand to knife and knife to primary weapons system. Featuring a contoured ring and narrow G10 handle the ASOT is equally comfortable in either left or right hand. The concave recess at the top of the ring gives optimal thumb control when downward pressure is applied. Unique to the ASOT is its live edge identifier at 34 length of the handle; this feature enables the user to quickly identify the position of the single sided, cutting edge by feel. To maximize strength while achieving reduced weight the ASOT is constructed from 6mm D2 tool steel, has a blade capable of excellent penetration as well as cutting power. The beveled ring of the ASOT enhances feel in the hand and the tools accessibility, making it exceptionally fast and easy to draw. Its primary advantage over conventional blades is the retention it offers, while allowing for a seamless transition to a handgun with no disconnect between the tool and gun. The kydex sheath supplied comes standard with both MOLLE-Lok and TekLok belt carry mounting options. The provision of eyelet holes along both sides of the blade carrier, facilitate attachment to the body or gear via para-cord when the TekLok is removed. A low profile design allows the tool to be sandwiched between magazine or accessories pouches, this means no-one knows it's there but the operator carrying it. In CQB, rapid access to the tool is critical to create space in a lethal clinch situation, the ASOT gives the operator best balance between speed of deployment whilst maintaining optimum concealment and retention.
