During a storm the Bering Sea hammers against the permanately frozen coastline, the retreating waves drag the newly eroded mud, sand, and gravels back into the sea. This action is repeated over and over sometimes for days. After the storm passes and the Bering Sea returns to calm, certain areas of the beach are blanketed with a thin layer of brilliant crimson colored garnet sand on top a layer of heavy magnetic sand. Using great care with a flat shovel we excavate these high grade bulk samples of natures gold table!
