Description

This is a 24" plush Gorilla puppet where the mouth is hand manipulated with the arm going up the bottom portion of the puppet. The "fur" is long and black. You may purchase the arm rods separately to manipulate the arms which are relatively long. We recommend ages 3+ for ease of use. Gorillas are ground-dwelling, predominantly herbivorous apes that inhabit the forests of central Africa. Gorillas' natural habitats cover tropical or subtropical forests in Africa. Although their range covers a small percentage of Africa, gorillas cover a wide range of elevations. Gorillas move around by knuckle-walking, although they sometimes walk bipedally for short distances while carrying food or in defensive situations. Gorillas live in groups called troops. Troops tend to be made of one adult male or silverback, multiple adult females and their offspring. The eastern gorilla is listed as endangered on the IUCN Red List, with the mountain gorilla listed as Critically Endangered. The western gorilla and its subspecies are also listed as Critically Endangered. Threats to gorilla survival include habitat destruction and poaching for the bush meat trade.
