Aluminum Foil Tape Explained: Foil 2 Mil + Carrier 3 Mil + Adhesive 1 Mil

Commonly used in HVAC sealing and repair jobs, Aluminum Foil tape has a flexible and strong foil backing and pressure sensitive rubber adhesive that easily forms and adheres to a variety of smooth or irregular surfaces. It is incredibly durable and long lasting as it is resistant to flame, moisture, weather, UV degradation, and some chemicals. The strong acrylic adhesive and foil backing create a strong seal that forms a moisture and vapor barrier.

It's durability and flexibility also lends it to an array of uses in aerospace, metal finishing, appliance, and automotive industries as well as temporary metal repair. This aluminum tape meets the following standards: UL 723

Please NOTE: Surfaces should be as clean, dust free, and dry as possible before application. While the surface of the tape is moisture resistant the adhesive is definitely not. The adhesive is pressure sensitive and heat activated. Make sure you really press it firmly into place when applying and get it as warm as possible in the room to secure the adhesive. The dryer and warmer the installations are, the better the adhesive will attach.
