3. SenMod SD Card Network Shield Expansion Board Module for Arduino Ethernet W5100 Web Server

Feature

High speed Ethernet controller W5100
SPI interface
32 Kbytes inner buffer
SD card slot
Compatible with Arduino UNO, Duemilanove, and Mega

Description

Description:
The latest revision of the shield also includes a reset controller, to ensure that the W5100 Ethernet module is properly reset on power-up. Previous revisions of the
shield were not compatible with the Mega and need to be manually reset after power-up. The reset button on the shield resets both the W5100 and the Arduino board.
Arduino communicates with both the W5100 and SD card using the SPI bus (through the ICSP header). This is on digital pins 11, 12, and 13 on the Duemilanove and pins 50,
51, and 52 on the Mega. On both boards, pin 10 is used to select the W5100 and pin 4 for the SD card. These pins cannot be used for general i/o. On the Mega, the hardware SS pin, 53, is not used to
select either the W5100 or the SD card, but it must be kept as an output or the SPI interface won't work.
Note that because the W5100 and SD card share the SPI bus, only one can be active at a time. If you are using both peripherals in your program, this should be taken care
of by the corresponding libraries. If you're not using one of the peripherals in your program, however, you'll need to explicitly deselect it. To do this with the SD card, set pin 4 as an output and
write a high to it. For the W5100, set digital pin 10 as a high output.

Features:
High speed Ethernet controller W5100
SPI interface
32 Kbytes inner buffer
RJ45 Ethernet port
Support up to four simultaneous TCP/UDP connections
SD card slot
Reset Switch
Compatible with Arduino UNO, Duemilanove, and Mega

Description

Data Logging Shield for ArduinoHere is a useful Arduino shield. Many people have been looking for a dedicated and well-designed data logging shield. Adafruit worked hard to engineer an inexpensive but well-rounded design. Not only is it easy to assemble and customize, it also comes with great documentation and libraries. You can get going quickly - saving data to files on any FAT16 or FAT32 formatted SD card, to be read by any plotting, spreadsheet or analysis program. The included Real Time Clock timestamps all your data with the current time, so that you know precisely what happened when! Please note that this item does not come with an Arduino (you'll need one to use with the shield), SD card or coin cell battery! The shield comes with all the components soldered on and tested but does not have headers installed. You'll need some basic soldering skills to put it together, but even if you don't have much experience you can get it done in under 15 minutes. 9. Adafruit "Music Maker" MP3 Shield for Arduino w/3W Stereo Amp - v1.0 [ADA1788]

Feature

Bend all audio files to your will with the Adafruit Music Maker shield for Arduino! This powerful shield features the VS1053, an encoding/decoding (codec) chip that can decode a wide variety of audio formats such as MP3, AAC, Ogg Vorbis, WMA, MIDI, FLAC, WAV (PCM and ADPCM). It can also be used to record audio in both PCM (WAV) and compressed Ogg Vorbis. You can do all sorts of stuff with the audio as well such as adjusting bass, treble, and volume digitally.

Description

Adafruit "Music Maker" Arduino MP3 Shield for with 3W Stereo Amp

All this functionality is implemented in a light-weight SPI interface so that any Arduino can play audio from an SD card. There's also a special MIDI mode that you can boot the chip into that will read 'classic' 31250Kbaud MIDI data from an Arduino pin and act like a synth/drum machine - there are dozens of built-in drum and sample effects! But the chip is a pain to solder, and needs a lot of extras. That's why we spun up the best shield, perfect for use with any Arduino Uno, Leonardo or Mega.

This version of the shield includes an onboard 3W/channel stereo audio amplifier that can drive 4 or 8 ohm speakers. It's the same amplifier as in our TS2012 breakout, a great class D amplifier that sounds good and is power-conscious for portable/battery usage. Volume control is handled by the VS1053 chip.

Each order comes with one fully-assembled and tested shield, 2 2-pin terminal blocks, a stick of 0.1" male header and 2x3 female header for the ICSP connection. Some light soldering is required to attach the through-hole headers to the PCB for plugging into the Arduino as well as the terminal blocks for the speakers. Speakers, $1 headphones, SD card and Arduino not included!

Specifications:
Features the VS1053B codec chip - decodes Ogg Vorbis, MP3/MP2/MP1, MP4, AAC, WMA, FLAC, WAV/PCM, MIDI. Encodes Ogg or WAV/PCM
Stereo audio out with proper audio filter caps and ground reference so it can be safely

10. Adafruit Motor/Stepper/Servo Shield for Arduino v2.3 Kit

Feature

New version 2.3!
Completely stackable design: 5 address-select pins means up to 32 stackable shields: that's 64 steppers or 128 DC motors! What on earth could you do with that many steppers? I have no idea but if you come up with something send us a photo because that would be a pretty glorious project.
Instead of a L293D darlington driver, we now have the TB6612 MOSFET driver: with 1.2A per channel and 3A peak current capability. It also has much lower voltage drops across the motor so you get more torque out of your batteries, and there are built-in flyback diodes as well.
Instead of using a latch and the Arduino's PWM pins, we have a fully-dedicated PWM driver chip onboard. This chip handles all the motor and speed controls over I2C. Only two pins (SDA & SCL) are required to drive the multiple motors, and since it's I2C you can also connect any other I2C devices or shields to the same pins. This also makes it drop-in compatible with any Arduino, such as the Uno, Due, Leonardo and Mega R3.
As of 3/21/2014 we are shipping motor shields with the terminal blocks, and power jumper pre-soldered on. You'll still need to do a little soldering to put on the shield-headers (or stacking headers) but it should be even easier and faster to get started!

Description

We have upgraded the shield kit to make the bestest, easiest way to drive DC and Stepper motors. This shield will make quick work of your next robotics project! We kept the ability to drive up to 4 DC motors or 2 stepper motors, but added many improvements: Lots of other little improvements such as a polarity protection FET on the power pins and a bit of prototyping area. And the shield is assembled and tested here at Adafruit so all you have to do is solder on straight or stacking headers and the terminal blocks. Lets check out these specs again: 2 connections for 5V 'hobby' servos connected to the Arduino's high-resolution dedicated timer - no jitter! 4 H-Bridges: TB6612 chipset provides 1.2A per bridge (3A peak) with thermal shutdown protection, internal kickback protection diodes. Can run motors on 4.5VDC to 13.5VDC. Up to 4 bi-directional DC motors with individual 8-bit speed selection (so, about 0.5% resolution) Up to 2 stepper motors (unipolar or bipolar) with single coil, double coil, interleaved or micro-stepping. Motors automatically disabled on power-up Big terminal block connectors to easily hook up wires (18-26AWG) and power Arduino reset button brought up top Polarity protected 2-pin terminal block and jumper to connect external power, for separate logic/motor supplies Tested compatible with Arduino UNO, Leonardo, ADK/Mega R3, Due, Diecimila & Duemilanove. Works with Mega/ADK R2 and earlier with 2 wire jumpers. Download the easy-to-use Arduino software library, check out the examples and you're ready to go! New! As of 3/21/2014 we are shipping motor shields with the terminal blocks, and power jumper pre-soldered on. You'll still need to do a little soldering to put on the shield-headers (or stacking headers) but it should be even easier and faster to get started!

Conclusion

All above are our suggestions for shield arduino. This might not suit you, so we prefer that you read all detail information also customer reviews to choose yours. Please also help to share your experience when using shield arduino with us by comment in this post. Thank you!
