Description

One of the political cartoons that Walter Crane published to support the Socialist movement. This one celebrates May Day, which became an international worker's holiday in observance of the Haymarket affair of 1886. The garland is wrapped in a banner which contains such slogans as "No child toilers," Production for use, not for profit," and "Hope in work & joy in leisure."
