Feature

Professional Grade digital tracking force gauge designed for vinyl record purist's interested in precise record-level measurement of vertical tracking force (VTF). When used with the detachable cantilevered extension arm, VTF is measured approximately 3 mm from the surface of the turntable mat or platter! Non-magnetic measuring surface - suitable for use with most MM and MC phono cartridges.
Includes two precision calibration masses: 20 g and 5 g. Precision strain gauge sensor provides 0.005 g resolution. Manufactured using non magnetic materials (durable plastic housing with austenitic stainless steel cantilever extension arm). Polymer pad on loading platform for centering of stylus and to protect stylus tip. To provide maximum flexibility, the gauge can be easily re-calibrated (1 minute procedure) for other measurement ranges up to 100 g.
Switchable units: g/oz/dwt/ct, Low Battery and Overload indication. Compact size 52mm (W) x 95mm (L) x 12mm (H). The measuring platform of the cantilevered record-level extension arm places the stylus tip approximately 3 mm from the scale base.
***Requires one AAA ALKALINE battery (sorry, battery NOT included)***. This model of our Record Level VTF gauge has a new color (graphite) with updates to the gauge exterior; otherwise, the same as our "silver" Record Level VTF gauge.

Description

Riverstone Audio's newest product in our line of professional audio products is a record-level vertical tracking force (VTF) gauge. Except for the new color (graphite), and updates to the injection molded housing, this VTF gauge is identical to our popular silver color record level VTF gauge. This professional stylus pressure gauges is designed for vinyl record purist's looking for a stylus pressure gauge that provides accurate record-level measurement of VTF. When the VTF gauge is used with the detachable cantilevered extension arm, VTF is measured approximately 3 mm from the surface of the turntable platter, close to the height of a stylus tip resting on an LP record (LP's have a typical thickness range of 1.9 mm to 2.9 mm). The tracking force gauge has a resolution of 0.005 g - providing very precise VTF measurement. To reduce interaction with magnets in MM and MC cartridges, the casing of the VTF gauge is manufactured from durable plastic and the detachable stainless steel cantilevered extension arm is made from a non-ferromagnetic grade of stainless steel. Two masses, 20 g and 5 g, are included for gauge re-calibration (a straightforward 1-minute procedure). The calibration masses also allow verification of gauge readings prior to VTF measurement. With larger calibration masses (not supplied) the gauge can be re-calibrated for use up to 100 g. A polymer pad on the measuring platform protects the stylus tip and allows accurately centering the stylus on the measuring platform. The LED display (green) is bright and easy to read. A detailed instruction manual (in English) is provided. Overall dimensions: 52 mm (W) x 91 mm (L) x 12.0 mm (H); height dimension is with cover removed. PLEASE NOTE: Although no tools are required, installation of the record-level extension arm requires a bit of technical savvy, and a small dose of patience. ***Requires one Alkaline AAA battery (sorry, battery NOT included).***
