The system is designed to make it quick and easy to pack away, carry and store your jigsaws; they are forever kept safe, neat and tidy. Puzzle enthusiasts usually refer to Jigsorts as puzzle organizers because each one consists of three key elements as follows: Firstly, there is a firm Construction Board (a Jigboard made from rigid board not cardboard) that weighs 6lbs and on which the puzzle is made. The board is completely covered in a special soft fabric that makes it a joy to work with. It can be placed on any table or shiny surface without the least fear of scratching. The fabric covering keeps the pieces attached to the surface and this, combined with a raised edge around the board, ensures that individual pieces are never lost. Whilst a jigsaw is being made the board is taken out of the outer case to make it easy to move around. Secondly, there are 4 Sort Trays that provide a means to store the non-assembled pieces. Using a Jigboard on which to make your jigsaw puzzles allows you to constantly keep your puzzles tidy and to easily move them from one place to another. There is a raised edge around the board so that pieces do not get knocked off and lost. This is the second largest Jigboard in the Jigthings range and the most popular size in the USA. The board will accommodate most puzzles up to 1,500 pieces (sizes up 36 inches x 26 inches) as well as all the prevalent makes of 1,000 piece puzzles. Soft fabric (much like the baize on a snooker table) covers all surfaces so that there is never any danger of the board scratching a table that it is rested upon. At the same time, the work surface is solid and a joy to work with. The fact that the board is solid means that it can be supported on the smallest of tables and this makes it possible to do a jigsaw much larger than the table itself. Each board comes complete with a Jigmat that combines together two different materials. One side is the same soft fabric material that covers the board whilst the other side is waterproof plastic. Ordinarily, the Jigmat (plastic side up) completely covers the jigsaw when it is not being worked-on and thus protects the jigsaw puzzle from dust, spillages and the unwanted attention of pets!
